About me

Hi, I’m Lisa, I'm a fully qualified, BACP-registered counsellor with significant experience in pre- and post-bereavement support, as well as helping individuals navigate anxiety, stress, trauma, and life’s many transitions.

What led me into counselling was a deep belief that mental health deserves just as much care and attention as physical health. I’ve seen how powerful it can be when someone feels truly heard and supported, and also how isolating it can be when emotional struggles are pushed aside. I’m passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health and creating a space where people can talk openly, without shame or judgment.

My journey into this work has been shaped by both formal training and hands-on experience. My qualifications include:

  • ABC Level 2 in Counselling Concepts

  • ABC Level 3 in Therapeutic Counselling

  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

Over the years, I’ve supported people in a range of settings that have deepened my understanding of emotional resilience and the unique challenges we each face. In a hospice environment, I’ve worked closely with individuals and families dealing with grief and loss, offering compassion and space to process what can often feel overwhelming.

As a volunteer police officer, I gained direct insight into the emotional and psychological impact of high-pressure, often traumatic situations. That experience shaped the way I understand trauma—not just as a past event, but as something that can live on in the body and mind. It’s helped me to support clients with trauma in a way that feels safe, gentle, and responsive to their pace.

I’ve also volunteered with Cruse Bereavement, and continue to offer short-term, focused work through Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), where I support individuals dealing with workplace stress, personal challenges, and the emotional barriers that can make returning to work feel daunting. In these sessions, I help clients explore what's getting in the way, build emotional resilience, and reconnect with their own strengths and values.

My core approach is person-centred—I believe in meeting you where you are, and creating a space where you feel heard without judgement. That said, I also draw on a range of integrative approaches when helpful, tailoring my support to suit your unique needs and goals.

Whether you’re facing grief, anxiety, the effects of trauma, or navigating a difficult period of change, I’m here to walk alongside you at your own pace, with care, respect, and understanding.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
